Any idea grows into a passion from deep thought and a belief in yourself. That’s how my journey began too. I strongly believed that I had the skill and passion to make a change in the lives of children with special needs. I practiced my skills for a decent 17 years and then came a turning point in my life where the journey to adopt a baby girl opened my eyes to an entirely different zone of need. That’s the Orphaned, Abandoned, and Surrendered Children with Special needs. PACT INDIA was born out of that thought, we as founders saw a gap that early Identification and Intervention were not being met for young children.
We journeyed with our thoughts and our plans and put them into action. Strategically we did build a team of people to deliver the service. We worked our way up with the certifications and registrations required. To keep our process more structured we did a vigorous ISO certification exercise. Amidst all that we did, we realised that we were lacking in the skill of thinking ahead for the better sustainable running of the mission and vision ahead of us.
At the most appropriate time, we were fortunate to be incubated into UnLtd India. It was the right fit into the frame of our organisational development goals and guidance on our entrepreneurship journey required. The right steps and effectual thinking was my first learning from UnLtd India.
Debriefing the entire vision and its way forward to the beneficiary in a systematic way was one of the many valuable lessons learned. As a passionate individual, I began to realise that funds and my skills were just a part of the journey and there was much more to learn and unlearn as I moved forward to pursue the solution to the unmet problem.
The preparation and planning I needed most as an entrepreneur was perfectly groomed in the sessions learned at UnLtd Inda. A very vast section of skills and preparedness we need as an entrepreneur and leaders of an organisation was shown to us, UnLtd India has helped us reach the state of preparedness to lead and to plan our journey of scaling up ahead as PACT INDIA. Personally, my passion and excitement to serve and solve the problem identified has been elevated to another level after the Incubation sessions at UnLtd India.
The mentoring and every phase in the journey with their team helped me to upskill myself as an emerging leader. I definitely got a greater insight into how a team can be effectively and positively managed. As a leader of an organisation, we may have moments of down phases and burnouts. I learnt how best I can self-reflect and get the best out of myself. It has helped me enhance the way I present the core work of the organisation to many different sectors and sensitize them to our vision. As an Organisation, we are extremely grateful for this opportunity given by UnLtd India.
