As the Founder of Navikru Eco Foundation, working with children on sustainability education and environmental solutions, I joined UnLtd India's Incubation Programme seeking clarity and direction. What I gained was far more profound. The program helped me revisit my 'why', the core reason I started this journey, at a time when the demands of running an organization can often cause you to lose sight of your original purpose. The sessions broadened my perspective significantly, emphasizing the importance of understanding the broader ecosystem, conducting primary and secondary market research, and identifying the multiple stakeholders involved in social impact initiatives. The guidance from mentors, coaches, and facilitators helped me approach my organization's work far more strategically. As a solo founder, the journey can sometimes feel isolating, but being part of this incubation cohort gave me a genuine sense of community and support. Many rural women in marginalized communities rely on informal lending systems, which often lead to high-interest debt traps and financial instability. At Make a Change, our mission is to help these women become self-reliant, by strengthening their livelihoods, improving financial literacy, and connecting them to formal banking systems. UnLtd India's program was eye-opening and transformational for both me and the organization. It helped me better understand legal and compliance requirements, improve our operational processes, and strengthen our ability to measure social impact. The one-on-one mentoring sessions, networking opportunities, and exposure to funding pathways were particularly valuable in shaping our strategic direction. The program gave us the tools to move beyond intent, enabling us to grow both as an organization and as leaders, while increasing our capacity to create sustainable impact for rural women. The Bedia community in Neemuch and Ashoknagar districts of Madhya Pradesh faces a deeply entrenched social issue, caste-based prostitution, where girls are denied education and pushed into sex work at a very young age due to long-standing social and economic pressures. Addressing this required more than just intent; it demanded structured action. UnLtd India's program gave Janshwari exactly that. Through the program, we were able to strengthen the work of our Dignity Centers, spaces that focus on providing education, improving mental health, and creating a safe and supportive environment for children, helping them pursue alternative futures. The program also sharpened our approach to supporting women who were pushed into sex work during adolescence, by helping us build clearer pathways for dignity, empowerment, and alternative livelihoods. Beyond the operational frameworks, UnLtd India helped us think more strategically about gradually changing the social conditions that sustain these practices. I strongly recommend this program to any founder working on complex, deeply rooted social issues who is looking for practical guidance and meaningful organizational growth.
